So I think I'm 5 weeks into the course. Doing a couple hours study most afternoons and I'm on top of everything. I have just done complex numbers and most of conics and it doesnt seam too hard.

How hard will it get?

It's using those skills in new ways that's hard, not the skills themselves.

It gets harder from there. But not as much as the hype. Keep in mind there will be times that you sit and think wtf.

This is good to hear. All my teachers are pretty much saying i have no hope even though I'm getting full marks at the moment.

Big mistake.

:S Everyone seems to be on their second or third topic
We're only just finishing complex locus now
Are we seriously that behind?

Nope. You arent behind :)
As to the OP - it does get quite hard, but if you are honestly keeping up with a few hours study on mx2 most nights as you say, it should be bearable - the issue with 4u however, is not concept but application. That is, you might know every conics/locus formula, but without the ability to solve problems (which can be obscure and border on the insane), you wont do well.

And yes, i did only read this post because of the title.. :p

According to my math teacher, circular motion is the hardest topic in MX2, so use that as a means of gauging the difficulty. It's more or less working out stuff about objects traveling in circles =/

Complex numbers and conics are nothing compared to harder 3u. Although harder 3u seems to have been a bit easy over recent hsc exams.
