lol mate.

Salary is pretty good in $ terms. But you will have no time to spend it.

Do you mean uni?

No uni will give you an advantage. Just make sure you have good marks

Exiting lifestyle? What does that mean.

God. Doesn't matter on your ATAR. To do IB you will need to do finance at uni (with commerce/economic/acturial studies) and get HD's

With good marks you are set.

You could go IB even with a commerce degree- you just need good marks etc.

Well considering IB will involve working like 16 hour days

Try it for a few months. You will be drained.

Working 6, maybe 7 days a week. 16 hours minimum each day. Drained.

IB is hard. Not hard to get into if you are good. But hard to stay in it

I am in year 12.

I know a few IB workers. They work this. They also say this is pretty average.

Check other threads on this site about IB. They all say the same

Yep you'll get an 'exiting' lifestyle.

Most people don't last very long due to the intensity + long hours, and they tend to exit the industry relatively quickly.

Exactly. People who IB will struggle to have social lifes.

Tbh if you do IB you really only could manage it for a few years before absolutely burning out

I haven't done IB as I work in accounting but I've worked numerous 120 hour weeks before (I work with IBers on deals).

Everyone says they can handle the hard work and they're willing to forego a social life, etc...

Try studying for your HSC without doing any non-studying related activities (e.g. talking to friends/family) for 120 hours a week (i.e. 17 hours a day- every day of the week). Eat all your meals in front of a book or your notes. Don't go on FB/MSN/email/etc. Don't go outside. It's not the same as you won't have the same pressure, etc but it'll be a good test to see if you can even stay focussed for that long.

FYI. Serentify is like god of all IB/Accounting on here.

So take his word
