How do you find out how fast you can type?

I can type pretty fast, well I learnt touch typing by just trying not to look at the keyboard.

There's a program called TypeMaster I think, give that a try

Here's the site http://www.typingmaster.com/default.asp click free demo

I'd be around 60-70 WPM, and that's mainly from just spending too much time on computers.

I learned my typing skills through general computer use and was able to touch type in year 9, which was a real help.

Since last test 65+ WPM with 98% accuracy, I should be better then that now and that now! As for typing programs the only time I have used them was in late year 8 and early year 9 until this year in IT when we are asked to attempt it every 2nd lesson for 5-10 minutes.

50 words per minute average. Accuracy about 90-95%. I'm content with that speed. :)

I learnt from a program called Mavis Beacon, and then I just practised alot to increase speed/accuracy.

My school, during year 9 or 10 in computer study classes had to do practise typing programs, which was useless but hey.

From here which I posted up before

http://www.typingmaster.com/default.asp

Also I learnt like pi to like 30 decimals from that programs hahaha :) There's a game to practise your number typing hehe

Touch typing is cool, only learnt it from constant internet and chatting time haha

I don't think that learning through programs helps a lot of people unless they start young or are commited. These programs I find can get long and repetitive and its best to learn through general computer use.
