The Daily Telegraph and Sydney Morning Herald post the top 100 schools based on HSC performance (as you may already know) in their news-papers. If your school is ranked outside the top 100 you cannot find out its ranking (as far as I know).

That said, someone posted up a full list of the 2009 School Rankings on this website. I remember looking at it.

Variations in exam sat:

1. Different number of cohort.
2. Variation in the amount of subjects an individual does.

However, they are selective schools. Government run schools can be selective of course.

My school has blazers and loads of extracurricular activities...

Not only is it a public school, it's ranked 502 :D

my school has blazers, but only for prefects or people on special occasions. oh and we are a normal public school
