Maths was not too hard but not too easy. medium i say.Multiple Choice was really easy, the last questions on the paper were probably the hardest. Anyone get the question about the cube's size differences or something like that? i said something like 38.
i got 36 for that question i did 1^3+2^3+3^3

but what about the question after it the very last question about the equation for number of different size cubes in each cube ,i got n^3 but i think its wrong

SHIT.

I did not see that extra triangle going through the middle of the diagram. I just assumed the square was added in to make it look complicated BECAUSE IM AN IDIOT. I wrote the answer was 60.
Damn you had time to think off all that

ughh.. those square and cube questions were horrific
overall i think i did quite well though

what was a reason that the girl was wrong for saying her team had a 1 in 12 chance of winning or whatever?

and can someone please walk me through the last question of that tiles/pavement question?
i got it right to a certain extent... my answer was out by a decimal place and had a 0 missing from what the answer should have been :S
That 10% crap yeah i was lost LOL

i seriously had no idea for the probabilty question too
i just wrote less people on their team
and athletic ability
SOo wrong...

Re: Mathematics - 2009 SC - Opinions and Thoughts

i didnt get the rule for the last question? what was it?

also the 2nd last question in section 1 where it asked for the angle x in that equilateral triangle above the square. what was it?
the rule for the last Q was 1^3 + 2^3...... n^3..

fuck i couldnt believe i put like (1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2)^2 for the 2nd last question >_<

it was 45*.... i actually drew it out and measured the angle coz i forgot how to do it... xD

For the trapezium question the formula sheet was of use, I got a whole number. Though can't remeber all question details so can't say how I worked it out.

I found that test quite hard D:
Everyone from my school came out saying that it was difficult too...But thats because we are lowly ranked I suppose (500's)

I was so stressed during the exam and didn't finish non-calc >__>!

non calculator was not easy but the rest was quite ok
the last two questions i got 36 for the number of cubes and for the numerical expression of the formula i said it could be n^3 + n^2
but thats probably wrong idk..
You had to square root 400 (=20) and then minus one (=19)

haha i wrote like it wasn't exactly going to be 1/12 chance of winning, and i said it only might be...

but overall, I think i lost at least 5 marks... but it was okay though..
