isn't it a pity that large corporations will not allow users to install Firefox?
As long as they're under the Microsoft label, IE it will be.

Seems like more business are gonna start to use FF, and M$ will finally get what it deserves

yeah, well there's a lot of politics involved in large corps. The people at the top that make the final decision often know nothing about computers.

They'd prefer to stick with well known 'Microsoft' than some unknown software. (yes, firefox is unknown to a lot of people). The only people in a corp you'll find using FF, is the IT department

You are joking right..... there are heaps of open source media players, for every file type imaginable. Mplayer, for example, is a Windows media player clone, but with native support for MPEG4, ogg etc.

I like WMP10 tho.
And there is a player i know of .... i had it a while ago, when wmp was still fairly new, and it was better... now tho i kinda doubt it.

Yeah firefox is pretty cool. Although I have noticed that some plugins do not work. Like when you click instal new plugin it says "plugin not found". Other than that it's neat stuff. And when you view the page source, it is colored !

This is a testing release, most people should wait till 1.0 is released nov 9

but it does have one important feature, single window mode
no need for tabbrowser preferences now

RealPlayer is evil. It's blacklisted from connecting to anything in PeerGuardian and Protowall

It's useful for streaming, but not for much else in my opinion.

anyone noticed a significant decrease in spyware, viruses etc since you've been running firefox...
(yes i did set up ie without active-x etc before.. wasn't the same)

I have experimented with Firefox for a week or so...
my findings include:
popups blocked
some plugins wont download
some web pages dont show up properly e.g. ninemsn.com.au the linky thing on the left hand sign stuffs up
I have an extensive favourites menu and when i hover the continue arrow thing/button it keeps going.
makes IE stuff up, wont load some web pages...dunno why?
the search toolbar only has google.com not google.com.au

yeah, they don't have much control over the plug-ins, it is afterall free

ninemsn.com.au is a microsoft site..... (they screwed up the site for opera before and got sued)
www.emailcash.com.au open market exchage also has problems

in regard to google
open bookmarks->manage bookmarks

you will see google quick search, right-click and properties

change the keyword to 'g'
and the link to the .au one

now to search you simply type "g whatever" in the location bar.
much easier eh?
