hm ...
i'm not sure, but our head maths teacher is a 3u HSC marker and on the committee that determines the cut off marks for each band.
i'm pretty sure she said that 70s out of 84 would be E4 no problem.
i don't think it would be as low as the 40s.. or even the 50s to be honest.
maybe 60s?

plus, i thought the exam was harder than last year's paper definitely.
i suddenly realised how to do the two one mark questions in question 6 as soon as i got home ! :(

i believe 60s would be enough for a low-mid E4, maybe not really mid, but yeah enough for 45-46/50

Now, I don't think the exam was easy, it was a little different to other years' papers as well... >_>

I can't imagine the cut off for an E4 will be >64... I would say that the cut-off lie around the 54-58 mark. Depends on everyone's performance :p

I agree.

It'll just depends on the rest of the state but from what i gather, everyone most people got screwed over by the "different" style of questions asked.

different style of question? like what? :s
Usually questions 1-5 are nice and easy, then question 6 is fine and question 7 is challenging. This time around questions 1-4 were easy, then questions question 5 was fine, question 6-7 was challenging. The questions themselves also required different proofs/working out to the usual exam questions.

I heard general had different types of Qs too.

Why are we getting weird exams? :(
LOL no idea, hopefully the science exams are fine and i don't think they can really screw up my modern exam XD

From what i gather from my research of Bos it appears that at least 20% of BOS scored over 75/84 in terms of raw mark. So i suppose cut off will be about high 60s to low 70s this year... FML
