I was looking at different Uni sites and they all have scholarships applications that aren't only dependant on your ATAR but other achievements within your community and school etc.
Are out of school activities even possible when doing the HSC?
has anyone ever received a scholarship by ATAR and said activities?

I'd think being prefect would be good... and I found out that i actually had alot of time on my hands.. but only did a few charitable collecting money things.. you can actually do out of school activities now during the holidays..

if you get an atar of 99.95 thats definite scholarship material

Aha, thanks but no thanks. I'm quite satisfied with where i am right now :p

But yes, the HSC isn't all about study. Employers/Scholarship judges etc etc want to know you're a well roudned individual so get out there and do something you're passionate about :)

Awww, c'mon.
For every exam, you'll get... a cookie.

TWO cookies for above 80% =DD

But seriously, I am going to go hunt down some charities etc and make them let me do something credible.

thanks. =D

Join a St John Ambulance Cadet unit! It's awesome, you get to learn first aid and help people AND have lots of fun! :)
I did it for about 2 years, but decided to stop this year because of HSC and all.
I'm still continuing with sport though ^^ (yay for taekwondo =D).

I'm the deputy leader at our, but that's just the fancy shmacy name for vice lol. I do extra activities outside of school around 3 nights a week and a little on saturday arvo but I don't look at it as a distraction, more a rest from studies XD

If you're going for the more prestigious scholarships, you'll need to be doing a lot more than just being captain/vice/src leader at your school...
