I don't like the draw because I think they get their byes too early in the season. Plus, Buderus and Johns have to back up against tough oppostion after the SOO matches.

How bout how Danny Buderus got the Players Player Award yesterday? Wow, what a champion!!! :D

Byes are not an adavantage. its better to have them earlier in the season. if you ge them towards the end of the season it could stop any possible momentum your team had just before finals.

Byes can be an advantage. Especially towards the end of a long season when it gives players a week off to rest any niggling injuries and freshen up for the finals. Pretty much anytime but the last round is good for a bye I think (Saints had the bye round 26 last year and were down 24-0 within 20 mins in the semi). Oh that and first round, thats just a waste.

Did Henderson ever play hooker?? The guy is now a front/second rower. I always thought that he was a prop, I have a bet with my Dad, who is a Dragons supporter, and he says he was a hooker but moved to the front row because of Riddell.
Who is right?

Hahaha.. fancy meeting you here..

Too right, btw.

disagree wholeheartedly - Roosters are shoe-ins for the title next year

My Top 4 for 2005

1. Roosters
2. Bulldogs
3. Dragons
4. Newcastle/Brisbane - couldn't split them.

Roosters are the worst team. their team is all class yet they have only won one GF out of 3 attempts. a team like that should have more titles to their name.

true, but you also have to look at the teams we played - when we won the comp we were in great form - winning like 8 games in a row - when we played the Panthers, they had won a lot of games in a row. And the dogs, well they just wanted it more after what they went through with the Salary Cap and Coffs Harbour etc.

This year though, with players like:
- Amos Roberts
- Joel Monaghan
- Brett Firman

coming into the ranks, the loss of Fittler wont be felt as much.

Finch stays at half, then Firman takes 5/8, with last years top tryscorer - Roberts, on the wing - pretty awesome looking side if you ask me.

My smokey for this season would have to be the eels though. They have recruited well, and if Brian Smith can get the players to gel, they look pretty competitive.

I can't say for sure but as far as I know he hasn't played hooker. Perhaps he played some hooker in juniors, maybe even Flegg, but he hasn't played any hooker in PL or First Grade. But I'm fairly sure he wasn't moved to the front row because of Riddell... Pig was playing in the lower grades and may not have gotten his chance in FG had Browny not been injured.

Even with Riddell cementing his spot in FG if Henderson was a specialist hooker he would have been encouraged to continue because Pig can only play half a game. So I'm not 100% sure but I don't think he's actually a hooker. However he may have played some in juniors or even filled in there when guys like Gorrell were injured....

Go Manly! 2005 is our year because every nine years we win the comp. 1978, 1987, 1996 and 2005 next.
