Hi everyone,
I'm still tossing up whether I should keep my job next year, I'm not sure if it's going to affect my performance or whatever. I would really like to go travelling after the hsc and obviously I'm going to need money for that. If you've had a job during the hsc, can you tell me how many hours per week you worked and if you think that you could cope with that + the stresses of the hsc.
Thanks!

Wow, that's heaps of hours, I hardly do that during the school holidays!

And thanks for everyone else for your advice!

If you keep your job, and don't procrastinate, you'll have a monetary edge over those of us who procrastinate in those 35 hours you work. :p

The best thing is to have a organised flow, say only do 8-10 hours a week and that way you can earn some schoolies money and be on top of school.

At the most hours in year 10 i did was supposed to do was 25+ a week

Ahh, I don't plan on going to schoolies, I'm saving up for a gap year which will definetely be more memorable :)

But yeah, I only plan to work on weekends during the term so I can keep up with schoolwork during the week.

You'll be fine; having a job just means less time for procrastination :)
yeah, definitely. i just got a job a few months ago and i've found it actually helps me manage my time a lot better. now i'm forced to do things instead of just sitting around on my arse all day. whenever i have days off, i usually get nothing done. lol.
