Hey guys
I'm working n a 20 minute seminar based on George Orwell's 1984. My seminar is based on the ide (and the reality) of doublethink. For those of you who haven't read the novel, doublethink is the ability to hold two contradictory beliefs in one's mind at the same time, and believe both absolutely. For example, one girl who believes that war is wrong, but also believes that the president of the US's policies were right was using doubethink, as would be someone who believed in creationism and evolution. I was just wondering if anyone here had any examples of doublethink in thier lives that they'd be willing to share so that i might be able to use them in my seminar?
Thanks
