    Quoting within speeches

I posted this here because currently I'm working on an assessment relating to this module. However it's more of a general English statement than anything else so my bad for posting in the wrong section (I wouldn't if the library's internet wasn't so slow). Anyways! I'm writing a speech and...

    Repeat the HSC.

I got 0 in Economics and I'm still 12/15 (that's how bad my cohort is). You can still pick yourself up if you work hard...

Half yearlies- Who else screwed up?

3 exams done, 2 to go. French I aced considering I pre-planned my written part and stuck it to my dictionary pages and the questions were exactly the same and the reading was relatively simple too. Maths was relatively hard but 90% of the people coming out of the test said it was the...

    poor english teacher

If you can handle the workload, stick it out. My biggest regret of the HSC is not doing 3U/4U English. You're only in Year 11, you have the world of time to drop subjects but once you've dropped it you can't pick it up again.

If You Could Choose A Text To Study For English, For Your HSC, What Would It Be?

My related text is my favourite movie in the world: Brick.

    Soundwave Festival 2010

Was fucking amazing despite being unbearably hot. Alexisonfire was my highlight (and I adore them but I didn't expect them to be the highlight). The mosh for them was insane, their set was incredible and their performance matched it all. Escape the fate was also incredibly good live, A day to...

How many students in the state...

For the last 2 weeks I've been going to the library everyday with friends and it's helped so much. I was behind on almost all my subjects (due to literally doing absolutely no study / homework and just going by due to natural smarts since year 7) and I still am but in 2 weeks I've done like 4...

How to get band 5 without a tutor!

It's impossible to study English itself so I really see no point in a tutor. All you can really do is improve your vocabulary by reading and writing a lot... Anyway, - Know your texts and know them well. If you want a more in depth notes about context/belonging or whatever you're studying...

Tips, Tricks and Advice for the HSC

For those complaining about procrastinating. Study at your local library. I previously sucked at studying, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Everytime I'd come home I'd jump on the Internet, get bored and go have a shower / eat / do something else. If you're studying at a library you're forced...

    Question

Seeing as the OHS (Open High School) and normal French Beginners cources are different, you recieve different assessment tasks and sit a different final exam - are they scaled the same? Because in my opinion the French OHS cource is a lot harder than the school one, so it would be relatively...

    Some Questions

Well my school says that your assessments (Assessment Tasks + Trial Exams) count towards 50% of your HSC and then the other 50% comes from your actual HSC exam mark. Whilst other people say that your assessements don't actually count for much apart from they rank you in your school which effects...

Any links between 'we are going' and 'Romulus my father' to concepts of belonging?

Re: Any links between 'we are going' and 'Romulus my father' to concepts of belonging He's studying ahead! I personally haven't read either but I'd imagine it to be fairly obvious if you had...There's a lot of essays and such on "Romulus My Father" within the resource section - check them out.

In a bit of a pickle....

Ask your careers teacher or whoever if the Catagory B subject counts towards your ATAR. I was doing Accounting (which counted towards my ATAR) but dropped it because I didn't like it. However not all Catagory B subjects count towards your ATAR...it's subject specific so you need to find out...
