I already said in my previosus posts, bacteria wouldn't sustain bacteria but most people would consider it in a situation of life and death. When did I say that it would sustain life in the desert? Meat would, animals would.

That's quite true, but most billobongs are quite salty in the desert that it could not sustain the life of a plant. The possiblity would be quite low to find plankton in the desert overall.

Evolution doesn't gurantee a change. Not every race which undergoes evolution will change. Some tend to stay the same, but as human beings, they did evovle the same way as us but their life styles stayed the same when the Europeans established a whole new generation of human civilisation.

And why should I list edible bacteria? I find it irrelevent since I gave you the scenario of being trapped in a desert, how is this supposed to affect me? I think it is your problem what you eat in the desert, not mine.

You understand that this does apply to a situation in which there is nothing else to eat other than bacteria itself for survival. Other wise, no, no one is going to harvest and eat bacteria. ;)

I'll try not to be too detailed with my reponse, but I do believe that it would be in my biology book on the topic- Ecosystems, billobongs.

Evolving takes a long process. It doesn't happen in the snap of your fingers. Why do you think we were once monkeys millions of years ago? Anyway, I don't think that you would stand a chance to survive long enough to evolve.
