Nope I only have 1

Must be tough :(
Yep, I honestly prefer it though, not sure why.
I guess I'd rather have it spread over 2 exams than a whole chunk of the year concentrated on one exam.

Is content split or is it just two full trials?

I agree...better to get feedback from trial 1 which is worth 10-15%, and ace trial 2 based on that, rather than screw up one heavy trial...

but you wont get that opportunity in the hsc. the whole point of the trial hsc is to simulate the hsc.

2 full trials both full content, first set of trials is CSSA and second is Independent for Maths and I think other subjects combine trials or use independent or something

^^. I think it's unfair in the perspective that not all students have access to cssa and ind papers :0. It happened to like half my cohort last year for 2u. Half the cohort saw the question already.

It's like sitting a mock trial before HSC - except it actually counts for something.
Trial 1 is the first time you ever sit a HSC style paper, with all content. It's not worth A LOT but it can still pull you up or screw you up so you have to take it seriously, which simulates a mock trial.
Then you get feedback on where to improve, and get a week to prepare for the much more important Trial 2 which is worth 20-40%. This part is the simulation of hsc :)

We do them at the times when everybody does them, the 2 sets of trials are separated by 2 weeks anyway.

Its the fault of the school to do the CSSA papers after the security period is up/a significant time after the papers have been conditioned for release.

=====

Goals
Perfect the CSSA MX2 Paper
95% + for Independent
Top 10 for Chemistry out of approx 35
Top 10 for English out of approx 40
Top Economics
Top 3 for Ex1 out of approx 10

Writing for two-three hours in Adv. English, Economics, Business, Modern and Ext. History is certainly going to leave my hand in a very poor state for quite awhile.

It's not that bad when you get used to it.

I mean I do like 6 units worth of writing heaps (Adv Eng + Eco + Business) and 6 units of not so much (Physics + 4U).

And I'm fine :haha:

no theyre usually not old hsc questions. otherwise people could just do all the past hsc papers and be prepared. sometimes they are taken straight from past trial papers, sometimes they are made up by the school, and occasionally they are modified past hsc Q's

Hmm, it depends on the school that you go to.

Some schools completely make up their trials from scratch while others buy them from organisations such as CSSA, Independent School Trials, NEAP, Western Region etc just to name a few.

So nope, they're not "all old HSC questions", schools may choose to change a question from the purchased trial to suit their needs (e.g. they haven't covered a topic)

Awesome, well i just did my English paper 1 trial today and the last essay questions was "How are the development of relationships linked to belonging or not belonging." Just a heads up if anyone has the same paper as I did (could be highly unlikely, but oh well ...)

Anyone else got their trials this week too ?

I've never actually heard of a school doing two trials before - but it actually sounds like it might be a good idea. It will be interesting to hear what you think of it after you have completed all your exams Sy.

You get used to it, although I will say that essay-intensive exams are easily the most physically demanding, even if they arent the most difficult.
