Hmm I think it is important, I would want to date someone intelligent, but that's not necessarily someone that is "book smart" or got a uni degree etc., just someone that you can have some meaningful conversation. I think it is defs a compatibility factor for me.

People watch that show?
You don't?

I remember pausing and just staring at the TV in utter disbelief when Koa was on a date with that Ronan Keating look-a-like. And they're walking down the street. And then Ronan Keating look-a-like just thinks "Hey, I want to luv dat feel" and pushes the girl (gently) onto some garage door or brick wall on the side of the street and they start pashing.

And I'm sitting there going "what even"

It depends on how smart/educated/intelligent/ambitious (etc etc) you are. THEORETICALLY your partner must match or exceed you in the traits listed, for a decent relationship. There's one girl I found who is pretty much identical to me in those traits, ie is on my level. On top of that, she's an absolute babe lol. So you could say its the perfect girl. However at my school most people are focused on academics than relatioships, which makes sense, HSC on the doorstep haha.
Wait, which school are you at?

I don't understand how the path to marriage can be televised as a TV show. Seems a little wrong to me.

When you have an IQ of over 130 you cant really be picky given that only 2% of the population is on your intellectual level. Because of the nature of the bell curve we are greatly outnumbered.
Anyway what's the probability of finding a hot chick who also has an IQ of 130?
use a normal distribution table

Most people are responding yes (when talking about a partner), but does this hold up for casual sex? Would you fuck an attractive (but relatively dumb) person? A lot of hot girls in their slutty period of their teens to their late 20s seem to be fine with this as long as the dumb guy doesn't talk too much. Guys don't seem to give a shit though as long as she's hot.

If you think it's OK, do you think there should be some sort of limit to this? Take the example of a person of average intelligence (IQ 100) having sex with someone who is borderline mentally impaired, but said by society to be "normal" (IQ 70 being the threshold for normal cognitive function, anything below that being impaired.) Is that OK?

What about if it was two people with that same amount of brainpower (30 points) between them, but it was someone of IQ 100 having sex with someone of IQ 130. Both of these people are said to be "normal" but the person of IQ 100 is borderline retarded, relative to the person of IQ 130. Is that OK?
you're presupposing IQ is a measure of smartness and intelligence

it's not

Re: Casual- don't forget you need to be attracted to them in the first place (in some way) though, and for some, intelligence is one such factor.

Personally, she would need to be around the same intellect and decent education level being doing an undergraduate degree or dropping out and making facebookv2 is okay aswell.

No, you are not.

I have a few friends who are/were dating guys who were let's say.... not as clever as them.

Of course, these guys made up for it with good looks/boy-ish personality/"badass" etc.

In the end, it has never worked out because sometimes, you want to be able to discuss things like political events, news etc and when your 'partner' doesn't know anything about such things, it is a real turn-off.

I have been told by many that the following personality traits are big turn-offs, but don't take my word for it. Individuals are called individuals for a reason =)

- Immaturity

- Lack of ambition (big killer right there, I have been told)

- Laziness

- Arrogance (which comes with immaturity, I suppose)

- Being a bit of a ditz
