Let's be honest in this thread. How many people do you know(and how) cheated someway in the HSC. It happens, with anything from past paper fraud to 'edited' essays(straight from the tutor).

EDIT* The reason for this post is brought on by various television networks and my brothers friends all telling me about how fraudulent the HSC really is. (Not that Tracy Grimshaw is a reliable source, but you know ;)

In my schools PDHPE class people wrote parts of their essays on their thigh and then copied that in the test room. PE teacher just said it shows their competitive when he was told? :|

ALOT of it goes on apparently.

One person I know actually told me that they had recorded notes at home and listened to it during the exams through an earphone which was someone wired through their sleeves. So basically, he "rested" his head on his hands without suspicious through 3 hsc exams.

Alot of the people in my mx2 and mx1 class wrote notes and stuff on their calculators in lead pencils, which doesn't get checked.

I too, am ashamed to admit that I have cheated, BUT BUT BUT!!! it was different. I (as well as 5 or 6 others) had an, "unauthorised" calculator, if you will. My teacher actually knew about it, and didn't mind, although she frowned somewhat and made "hush" noises when I confided in her. My calculator (a casio one by the way) could do definite integrals, complex numbers and had a bunch of other fuctions. It wasn't really that useful in the exams though, but still....

Wouldn't it be obvious to the supervisors though?

Also at the hsc maths day thing at uws in campbelltown, some maths teacher said that during the reading time of an exam, we are allowed to "mark" the paper with our thumbnails, so I asked him "what about other exams with multiple choice", which he replied, "it should be allowed since only use of pens" are not allowed. would that qualify as cheating?

James Ruse is synonymous with systematic cheating at all levels, with a totally complicit Board of Studies
