Anyone know a simple way to explain what the lymph system does?

- As vessels collect tissue fluid from around the body, it passes through a lymph node where foreign particles are filtered and drained.

- Lymph system consists of lymph, lymph nodes, lymph vessels, thymus, spleen, tonsils and adenoids

Okay so basically the tissue fluid that the vessels collect contain foreign particles right?

The video describes it as "debris, other kinds of wastes, pathogens". Wastes / debris might be a better word - do you think? Because I don't think it's ALL foreign particles.

Another site says this about lymph nodes, "they function as filters of lymph, catching any debris or cells present in the lymph".
