I think this is good news. 90% of Australians do not support communist Rudd on the ETS and im pretty happy to put up with Tony Abott's batshit religious views if im going to save money.

BBJ its not just Abott's batshit religious views you'll have to put up with, but Abbot has some fairly One Nation type views considering he employed ONe Nation's deputy David Oldfield as his Parliamentary Secretary
Im not expecting Tony Abbot to win the next election. However, Rudd needs to be put in place and come down a few notches and if it takes a nut to do this temporarily then why not?

Well at least he's got people skills.

At least Hockey has been saved. There'll be somebody viable for 2013.

"The 50/50 party" ffs.

The ETS certainly should be subject to full analysis and inquiry. The urgency seems unwarranted particularly, as noted by Michael Johnson on Lateline, as the CPRS would not commence until July 2012.

However, the ETS aside, if Turnbull was unable to gain any political traction, I highly doubt Abbott will be able to garner more support in the electorate. Religious social conservatism just isn't in vogue..
