What new uniforms?

we're getting polo shirts, apparantly we start wearing them on 1st January, my manager said they'll probably be blue

Yeah, I just realised at work today but for service, they're green and probably not polo. At least, I hope not.

Payslips should be available at cash office or in a folder for your department.

Hey are any of you woolies people (or coles, bi-lo, wherever) part of the SDA union? is it worth joining?

I joined just cos everyone else did but I want out so I'm trying to find a way to cancel it.

Someone at my store said it takes awhile til you get your discount card. Prob til after your probation.

And I joined the SDA cos everyone else was too, and the chick said something about $8 hoyts tickets for any day of the week. Its been 3 weeks since we handed in our forms and I still haven't got my SDA member card thingy... :/

With the online application, it says there to include a cover letter. Whom should I address the cover letter to, and has anyone submitted their application without one and gotten the job?

I didn't submit one. I just attached my resume and I got the job. What position is this?

Depends on your department. Im on checkouts and payslips are at the service desk.

Lala- not exactly. Service cashier is checkout chick.

For my cover letter I just put 'dear sir/madam, I am interested in this job because.... I am [insert positive adjectives], I can offer you...' etc. Not difficult.

I got my SDA card in the mail around 3 weeks after I joined. Someone said the staff discount was three weeks, though. Is it really that long?

Discount cards are 3 months which is the end of your probation period, because any time from when you are hired till the end of your probation period you can be fired for not obeying Company Policies. So after your probation period you should recieve your discount card.

Well, counting out change, probably not but I hate it when people give you a huge pile of change and you barely have room on your hands to count it out and make sure you're getting it right while everyone else starts getting pissed off an impatient :mad1:

When that happens to me I just dump all the coins on the weight scale and make up $1 piles, and then you just recount it when you’re putting it in your draw. And don’t worry about the next customer just give them a big smile and say "how are you today?"

With the profile, that is not an actual application is it? I thought it was but on second thoughts it doesn't seem to be?

The profile thing is technically an application and they say they'll contact you when they have an appropriate position available but it sounds like the majority of people get called when they apply for a specific position advertised and not the general profile thing.

What's a Nightfill Assistant?

Has/is anyone been a Nightfill? How were the hours; did you have to remain back after opening hours and what'd you have to do?
