yeah but drugs are lots of fun, espesh at music festivals. and i don't see how you're able to tell that they're not there for the music AND to get messy/have a good time.

i didnt say anything about drugs, specifically, i was talking more about alcohol. and uh, what about the people who dont actually know any of the bands? people who openly say they dont know any but are going anyway? i would say thats not going for the music :/

ps. a friend of mine lives up near byron and suggests y'all try accomodation at lennox head and other surrounding areas - the accomodation in byron is much more expensive than anywhere else

Arg that sounds so good - plus Cat Empire drool. Camping would be hella fun to boot -- but it's in 2nd week of semester. Plus travel be hard and accomodation and arg. Plus drugs. Not a fan of that scene.

I didn't bother checking the lineup, because I figured it'd be the typical bullshit one could expect.

And, really, it mostly is, however The Hold Steady!!!! I didn't know about their touring last year until I read a review about their gig, so am definitely going to have to catch them this year. Probably at a side show, though, I'm not overly desperate for any of the others.

they aren't coming, splendour had a bit of a cockup and announced that they were playing here when they were already booked to play another festival overseas.

yet it's still on the splendour website that they are. good work, organisers!
