Who has actually landed a job that you applied recently...there aren't many stores around my area looking for casuals or part timers.

My question is, who has applied for a job recently and actually got hired?

me, i work for David Jones logistics in miranda.

i had 2 days paid training (for customer service and cash registers, incase they need me on the selling floor), and i had my first day on my job today, 7am-12pm.

i applied about a month ago, then 2 weeks later i got a reply saying that there's no vacancies (i remember seeing vacancies on their DJ's website), so i checked the site again and it said that only vacancies in miranda is a Beauty Specialist position :/

BUT BUT BUT a couple of days later i got a call from DJ's HR, telling me that they have a vacant position in logistics at miranda and if i wanted the job :D (the previous dude who applied and got the position had to go overseas, so my name was next on the list).

Interview, half a week later, i was told i got the job after the interview, 4 days later i do paid training from 9am-4pm, same thing next day, and 2 days later (ie today) i start my first day on the job :)

I personally don't see anything wrong with Deli. It's one of thsoe things you don't mind doing as a job, or down right hate. My Deli s quite freaking huge, and along with all the 'express' areas around us (express dairy, chicken etc.) my job isn't very hard. Needles to say, a smaller Deli would probably be harder then my job.

From what I've seen produce is fairly simple and straight forward. I wouldn't mind switching, but I prefer the customer experience I get (I've noticed that at my Deli, I don't deal with many annoying or crap customers. They ask for something, I give it to them, and they're gone.) Comes down to what your stores like I suppose.

Well I just recently got a second job and I didn't have to apply for it. It was the local takeaway shop and I just went in for a burger and they offered me work so I was really happy! =D

Applied for 16 jobs last year and only got a call back from sanity for a group interview, didn't get the job.

I've applied for about 15 places this year again however I'm yet to get a phone call.

ME! i just had my first day, and i'm still a bit freaked out because it's such a sweet deal.

I landed a job as a pharmacy technician at St. Vincent's Hopital. It's a 3 month contract, full time, 800 bucks a week :O

I deliver drugs to the wards, dispense drugs and count pills and such. best!

That's too good!

Did they want you to have any experience, or are they training you?
