pointing out how terrible religion is and how it has negatively affected the world is well... fun XD
Excuse me? Negatively affected the world? Please state evidence. The Church has done far more good then bad.

i'm studying the middle ages now however, and the church werent so goody goody back then. the crusades, falsely claiming that marriage is a religious institution, and greedily amassing huge amounts of wealth from people who think that they'll go to heaven for giving money to the church.

Lol. Yeas... the church is not a perfect creation. But are you so blind to the various programs it offer to help rehibilate society? Charities, donation of money to poor people. Even St Vincent De Pauls have a religious bases, evident by its name.

And yes, the Church is not perfect. But are you?

Seriously but.
If i was a catholic/christian, i'd be ashamed by the history of my church.
no u wouldn't, you would just say that they weren't 'true' Christians/Catholics and didn't follow god properly thus abstaining you from them

Is that Church Doctrine or human stupidity? Its like saying because some terriost proclaim their actions on Muslim doctrine, all muslims are bad. Obviously that's a stereotype and the perception of such things can only be negative provoking hatred and racism amongst society. We must not succumb to such idiocy.

Hamas and Hezbollah also give to charity, your point? Charity is not the domain of the religious and the irreligious in fact do it a lot better without the nonsense attached. Anyone can give to charity, including secular organisations.

No, but I don't claim to be. It does.

On the topic of thread deletion, it is just an example of the lazy and terrible moderation policy that has been around this particular part of the forums of recent times. It is poorly-concentrated, poorly-though action and will serve to do nothing but harm discussion in here,

Well they ain't true Christians. Have you read what the churches promote? How can one change human sinfulness and stupidity?

But more than that, there are far more "beneficial" Christians then they are not.

Charities and 'various programs' are not exclusive to christianity.

How bout I get a group of people together, start a war in the name of that group killing millions, persecute people because they are different to me and have sex with little children. Oh wait there is already a group like that called christians.

My point is, the Church changes people? It reforms people and make horridly immoral people good Samaritans. Name me a secular organization that changes people morally.

If Religion had not being there, a large part of Charity would not be there. I am not stating that Church is the sole charity of Australia. But compassion and generosity that is instilled through the Christian heart through Doctrine is pretty amazing.

Gah I hate that line. Some of us don't believe in sin and don't appreciate being tarred with the "all humans are inherently bad" brush.

As for the topic, can't say I mind the "kill all j00s/muslims" threads being deleted, even though it does lessen the chances of stumbling across the occasional piece of trollish genius.
