okay, this is a reicipe for a Lemon Sponge Cake :

Prep Time: 30 Minutes
Cook Time: 1 Hour
Ready in: 1 Hour 30 Minutes

Ingredients

1 cup cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
6 tablespoons hot milk

Directions

1. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.

2. In a large bowl, beat eggs until fluffy and lemon coloured. Gradually beat in sugar. Stir in lemon juice and flavoring. Add sifted flour mixture gradually while beating; beat only enough to blend. Add hot milk quickly 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until blended. Pour into ungreased pan at once.

3. Bake 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 to 55 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to touch. Invert, and cool in pan. Then loosen sides, and turn out on cake rack to cool completely.

I only know how to made cake, which isn't very useful if I was going to move out cause I can't eat cake everyday can I?

since we r all 'interested' in cooking here. what satisfactions do u gain out of cooking? I find that the food i cook always involve a frying pan, oil, and eggs (sounds like a omlet doesn't it?), although my ingredients r simple, it is mentally satifying in that i am actually eating something i cooked.

only jamie cooks the food in less than 10th of the actual required cooking time.

however, it is very satisfying watching tv chefs cook eatable food, distracting your tastebuds from experimenting your own cooking disasters while eating.

1. get bread and put on tomatoe and cheese
2. grill for a few minutes.

stuff turkey wif a crushed mixture of butter, flour, shallots, coriander, parsley, saltnpepper, red wine (or any form of alcohol, this makes meat tender) and anything u fink might give strong flavour. Fully stuff up the turkey, tie the legs (of the turkey) up, and chuck it in oven after rubbing butter on it. u can test if it's cooked by poking a wooden skew into the turkey and if juices (not blood) comes out it's ready to eat.

this 'recipe' is not from some tv show nor book, so guarantee to eatableness is not assured. It merely comes from personal experience in roasting chickens.
btw, it's really difficult 2 fully cook a whole chicken/turkey wif a small oven (even if the temp in oven is high).

ok, i found a recipe

chocolate ring doughnuts

makes about 12

ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups of plain (all-purpose ) flour
- 2.5 ml / 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
- 5mL / 1tsp or cream of tartar
- 2tbsp / 25g of butter
- 1/4 cup / 50 g soft brown sugar
- 50 g plain chocolate
- 5 mL / 1tsp vanilla essence(extract)
- 1 egg, beaten
- milk
- oil for deep frying
- caster sugar mixed with ground cinnamon

Icing:
- 125 g plain chocolate
- 60mL / 4tbsp milk and water mixed
- 1 2/3 cups / 225g icing sugar, sieved

frying temperature 182C/360F

Preparation:
- sieve the flour, bicarb of soda and cream or tartar in a bowl
- rub in the butter and stir in the sugar
melt the vanilla essence and chocolate together
- pour the beaten egg and chocolate into the dry ingredients and mix to a stiff dough, adding a little milk if necessary
- knead very lightly and roll out until about 1cm thick
- using a floured ring cutter (or a large and small round pastly cutter) stamp out doughnuts, reserve the centres.
- heat the oil and fry and doughnuts a few at a time until golden brown. drain and cool.
- cook the doughnut centres (called 'holes'). drain. while still warm toss in caster sugar which has cinnamon added to it. serve 'holes' warm.
- to make the icing, melt the choc and liquid together. add the icing sugar and beat well.
- spread icing over cooled doughnut rings.

these are always best eater on the day they are made

This is a recipe for Meatloafs
Makes 8 servings

Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes
Ready in: 45 Minutes

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1 egg
garlic powder to taste
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup pineapple preserves

Directions

1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2 In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well, and place into a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
3 Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 50 minutes.
4 Meanwhile, in a separate medium bowl, stir together the ketchup, brown sugar and pineapple preserves. Pour over the meatloaf about 20 minutes before removing from oven.

Majorcan Chicken

Takes 30 mins preparation time
1 hour 30 mins cooking time
Serves 4

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons olive oil
30 g (1 oz) butter
1.5 kg (3 lb) chicken pieces
1 orange
1 red onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
cup (185 ml/6 fl oz) chicken stock
cup (125 ml/4 fl oz) white wine
1 tablespoon plain flour
1 red capsicum, quartered
12 stuffed green olives
cup (15 g/ oz) chopped fresh parsley

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to moderate 180C (350F). Heat the oil and butter in a large pan. Brown the chicken in batches over high heat and transfer to a flameproof casserole dish.
2. Cut two large strips of rind from the orange and set aside. Remove the pith from the orange, then slice the orange into thin rounds. Set aside.
3. Cook the onion and garlic in the pan for 3 minutes over medium heat, or until softened. Combine the stock and wine. Stir the flour into the pan, then slowly add the stock and wine and stir until the mixture comes to the boil. Add the orange rind strips, then pour over the chicken. Cover and bake for 1 hour.
4. Meanwhile, grill the capsicum, skin-side up, for 8 minutes, or until black and blistered. Place in a plastic bag, seal and allow to cool. Peel away the skin and cut the flesh into strips.
5. Remove the chicken from the dish; cover and keep warm. Bring the sauce to the boil on the stove top, skimming off the fat. Boil for 5 minutes to thicken slightly. Add the capsicum strips, orange slices, olives and parsley. To serve, remove the orange rind, season to taste and spoon the sauce over the chicken.

Well that's what I made a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, this is the:

German Christmas Gingerbread

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
2 cups packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2/3 cup honey
1/4 cup orange liqueur
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup orange juice
1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup raisins
1 cup blanched slivered almonds

Instructions:

1 Whisk together the flours, baking powder, and spices.

2 In a large bowl, cream the butter or margarine with the brown sugar. Beat in the eggs, then the honey, orange liqueur, sour cream, and orange juice. Beat the flour mixture into the creamed mixture, and then stir in the raisins and almonds. Turn batter into a greased and floured tube pan.

3 Bake cake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 80 minutes, or until it tests done with toothpick. Transfer to a rack to cool.

yeh n i have a suggestion... if u couldnt be bothered putting something in the oven coz u couldnt b bothered waiting for it to preheat n all that crap.... just put it in the grill for a few minutes
