might hav thought a wee bit lower than that.

83 - 84. But it depends on the quality of the canditature and the difficulty of the paper.

Btw, what raw would be needed for a 97?

awwww ok.

a hope ur wrong lol.
I think he's correct, if raw mark of 85 moderates to 90 then there are only 10 moderated marks for 15 raw marks to fit in.

So VERY ROUGHLY, every raw mark is worth 2/3 moderated.. so 97 moderated would be about 95,96.

A senior HSC marker told me the band 6 cut off floats around 78-81.

If it's an easy paper it might be closer towards 84 though.

I'd say 95% at least.
The marker also said that the highest % so far for 1st in the state obtained in past HSC exams was 95%, so i highly doubt you need 95% for 97 in chem.

I'm guessing ~88% would be 97.

Sure about this?
sounds pretty low

Well, if this is true, it's good for me.

I know, i was really shocked when i was told XD

But from what people have estimated their raw % to be and what they actually got, what i've said seems accurate.

Hmm... I still doubt it but it's a good news - I can aim hgher than what I originally was trying to get in the exam.

Btw, does this apply to Physics as well?

Hmm, are you sure Anna?

88% in MX2 would scale to ~96-98.

Maybe 95 is a bit much, but I'd say that 93% is minimum for a chance at 97 scaled.

I'm just repeating what she told me.

Did anyone else here go to the TSFX chem lectures here that can confirm I'm not lying? XD

P.S. It's aligning not scaling that we're talking about :)

well according to Parsonage's exam mark,

an 87/100 was equal to an aligned mark of 94/100.

Well obviously the raw mark difference between 80 and 90 scaled would be much lower than between 90 and say 97. So we cannot use a linear graph to accurately predict what raw marks would scale to 97, but we can assume it to be around 93-95%, if we consider the graph to be a logarithmic function.
