someone said to me that in diesel engines it is bad to mix fuel from two different petrol stations, and also that diesel from some stations is 'dirtier' than others.

does anyone know if this is true, and if so how damaging to the engine is it?

I always thought Diesel was the same regardless of where you got it in the same way Unleaded is the same... as in, there are some differences, but I think the differences would be so small/insignificant that it's okay? *shrugs*

Agree with above.

Diesel is diesel, just like any other fuel. The only variables being if some dodgy servo is mixing paint thinner in with theirs.

Yeah its just he same for unleaded people.... there are dodgy servo's out their but as long as you steer clear of them (its not to hard) their is no problem

just get your fuel from a big servo brand, eg caltex shell bp mobil.

i stay away from independent ones even if they are cheaper

ok but what i'm mainly worried about is will two different blends of diesel mixed together in the same fuel tank affect the engine in any way? some people seem to think it does but i can't figure out why..........
