Pretty damn surprised about geo that test was :angry:

From what I can gather, the sc was the end of year exams for like every school?? Were we the only school who had yearlies the next week as our main game...

Holy crap! That's excellent results. And nope you weren't the only school who had yearlies exams after the SC, I think it was the kings school.

Haha, welcome to BOS then! No, I don't go to the Kings but I know someone who does. I don't think there's anything wrong with posting your school here although some people prefer to keep it private.

I got my results this morning, and was quite surprised. Only one in my year to get all band sixes =D Yay!

Maths: 94
English: 96
Science: 97
Geography: 97
History: 93
Computers: 95

I like to think that's fairly good for a rural school (The Armidale School).
Also, I know I am newbyness personified, but what is repping?

i get my SC results next week but i have a question for the people that have gotten their results back.
are u surprised by ur results? do u think that they have been scaled up a lot (ie u got way more marks than you expected)?

Rep power:

It is a visual guide to your reputation. You get points if someone feels your posting has been helpful enough to them to 'add rep' for you. The more important/powerful (in reputation and/or management terms) the person giving the rep is, the more points you get. So an admin giving you rep would be worth more than a newbie member with no postings to their name.

By the same token, you can also get negative reputation points if someone feels strongly that you are being unhelpful, disruptive or giving bad advice.

So it is really just a way of quickly measuring the reputation of the person providing an answer to a question.

Damn rural, how long does it take you to get to all the GPS crap?

Repping is when you click the little 'scales' under someone's name to increase their green squares, usually the ones with more green are more respected.

School finished on the 3rd so I don't think I'll be getting SC back until next year unless they mail results to us.

yes sort off...especially maths i thought i would get in the 80's but i got 93 or maybe its just me
and there was a girl in my class...mostly fails but she got in her 70's for science SC.. the whole class was like wtf

bottom line: EVERYBODY 's GOING TO BE SURPRISED WITH WHAT THEY'LL GET

especially those who normally fail or get in the 60's get scaled up pretty damn high

98 ....thats 49/50 in the exam

My results were
Maths - 99
Science - 99
English - 91



Apparently this year Geo and Science were a great deal easier to get band 6's. I looked at the stats the other day, cant remember off the top of my head, but i think 30+% of students got band 5 or above in science?

Something like 8% got band 6 and 32% got band 5? (Might have been 23%, cant remember, lol) Previous years it was something like top 3-4% got band 6 iirc.

Our school got in the double figures for band 6's in science, our previous years the maximum we have had was 2 or 3.

We actually had yearly exams end of Term 3.

I don't know my exact results because teachers refuse to tell anyone but i got the highest school certificate marks in my grade

i don't understand how thats possible, aren't the results on the certificate?
and what right do the teachers have to keep the results from the students?
