lol this is amazing, the federal and state government bodies are trying to outdo one another with salaries

Remember how ASIC was offering 58K + performance bonuses for Accounting or Law graduates? http://community.boredofstudies.org/462/commerce-business/116529/asic-ups-ante-search-top-grads.html

NSW Treasury graduate rec is offering 65,574K for its accounting graduate stream and also the General graduate stream.

Accounting graduate stream (accounting only):

General graduate stream (commerce, business, finance, accounting, economics or something else relevant):

Still not enough to tempt me away from Big 4 (also I'm from Victoria anyway so it's not a hard decision), but lol geez it gets you thinking.

I think no matter what the govt. bodies offer to grads, in the long run, private sector (whether it be in a firm or a company) will always end up paying more.

... that being said, what are the workhours like for the govt.? :)
