I missed the ATAR for Medical Science by 1.95, so I'm going to do a BScience at USyd instead. On the USyd website it says that you can transfer into Medical Science for second year, but does anyone know if they offer many places for this/ is it likely that I will be accepted?

Thanks in advance! :)

It will depend on your marks in first year. You should aim for at least a credit average, which you need anyway if you want to do med after.

They determine whether you get in or not using 50% ATAR and 50% uni marks.

Keep in mind that you can cover almost exactly the same content as med sci in a science degree. If you are worried that a bsc degree doesnt look as nice, a science degree can turn into a science (advanced) degree if you do the right amount of advanced units in 2nd and 3rd year... there is no need to do any advanced units at all in 1st year to get a b science (advanced).. just sayin.

They only do 50/50 if your uni marks are worse than your ATAR. If your uni marks are better then they just take those.
