commerce/law at macquarie is like this:

there are 9 100-level units, however you only do 8 of them in first year. I am not doing the maths subject this year (I have to do at least 135).

econ110 - macroeconomic principles
econ111 - microeconomic principles
econ141 - econometrics
accg105 - introductory accounting
math123-136 - mathematics (what level maths you did at school determines which math options you are eligible for)
law103 - torts/legal history
law113 - jurisprudence
stat170 - statistics
acst101 - techniques and elements of finance

OMG I am glad I am not at maq if they make you do maths! The only maths I have to do is in the process of doing other stuff that is actually relevant to business.. eg statistics and accounting

FINM1001 Money, markets and finance
BUSN1101 Introduction to commercial law (can't choose this is you are combined with law though)
INFS1001 Foundations of electronic commerce and information systems.

LAWS1201 Foundations of australian law
LAWS1203 Torts
LAWS1202 Lawyers, justice and ethics
LAWS1204 Contracts
LAWS1205 Australian public law
LAWS1206 Criminal law and precedure
LAWS2250 International law (I think anu is the only law school that makes international compulsary... this is because they have all the lectureres that wrote the textbooks ect. and it is apparently really strong here)

BBus/LLB @ uts... what i wrote in brackets is what i think the comparative subject is in the other unis...

Semester 1
Accounting for Business (accounting 1x),
Managing People and Organisations (management 1x),
Economics for Business (introductory macro+microeconomics),
Business Law and Ethics (paralegal business law and ethics study???)

Semester 2
Legal Process and History (foundations of law),
Legal Research (legal research),
Marketing Foundations (marketing 1x)

Semester 3
Criminal Law (criminal law),
Law of Contract (law of contract),
Business Information Analysis (i'm not sure but i think its like QMA/econometrics),
Business core Elective 1

Semester 4
Law of Tort (law of tort),
Federal Constitutional Law (constitutional law),

i think uts has kinda randomised the first two years of bizlaw round a bit compared to usyd/unsw...

by logic.. @uts course
i wud have thought the "foundations" course should be first learnt...so you have background b4 you start any law...unless of course that bus law thingy, is more business inclined with certain legal aspects

Legal Process and History is essentially Foundations of Law. but the Bus/LLB course puts its own introduction in, supposedly just for fun :)

Yeah, I'm at UWS too, at Parra....My lecture is on Mondays though, so maybe we have different lecturers...I have Varuna Godara, what about you?
