Need more info.

What kind of car was it and what kind of car does she want? Performance? Modding? Auto/manual? Safe? Reliable? Intended usage? etc..

Are you planning to put more cash in?

She did have a Subaru RX Impreza....no modding, nothing special. Just a safe, reliable car for running around the North Shore.

Needs to be an auto though.

Could probably put more cash in, though don't really want to put in much.

Four wheels. Doors. Roof. Drives forwards and backwards depending on gear selected.

Other than it being quite safe, I honestly don't care.

You'll never go wrong with a Toyota *diehard Toyota fan here* Hondas are also good but they're a little more pricey. Mazdas seem to be more popular nowadays.

more like kthxBUY

anyway, nissans are considered quite safe, provided you're not a hoon.

but seriously, if you're a good driver, your only danger is that dickhead on the road who just has to speed. so it sounds like your only worry is price right now.

so id have to go with the honda civic, the hatchback one. learnt in it, and it handles like a dream. however, i do hear the civic coupe is even better economy, but pricier.
