Bull! What about all the relativistic physics, that screwed maths over piles! Well, certain areas of it.

but asquithian, hte majority of uws graduates go on to business managment positions with the knowledge of law at hand. when i went to the open day with my friends who were enquiring about the course, they were told there werent many studnets who go on to be lawyers, barrister, whatever

That's an excellent point actually. Most positions in the legal world rely on the "Old Boys" network more than actual ability (for starting positions that is) and UWS just isn't part of it. For business, however, all you need is a brain and a bank balance.

Textbooks are expensive! I need 2 textbooks for one of my subjects. Hopefully I can get them second hand :).

For UTS students, the 2nd hand bookshop website is at: http://2bb.uts.edu.au . You can use this website for looking up books for sale and also to register any books you want to sell.

I didn't buy the law dictionary. I live with someone who did law so I use hers.

Interesting that our costs are about the same even though we needed different textbooks! What subjects do you do this semester?

I do:
Foundations of Australian Law
Torts
Business Reporting and Analysis
Quantitative research and analysis.

Shit, I'm not even there yet and now I'm worried. I'm gonna be scraping HECS fees together, and trying to feed myself. And now text books. Can't wait to get to uni and be really poor and broke. How fun.

My textbooks:

Foundations of Computer Science: From Data Manipulation to Theory of Computing: $84.95
C++ Programming: Program Design Including Data Structures: $94.95
MATH121 - Discrete Mathematics Notes: $13.10
Situational Functional Japanese, Volume 1: Notes: $76.95
Situational Functional Japanese Volume 1: Drills: $66.95
Basic Kanji Book: Volume 1: $62.95

I have the MATH121 notes, and I'm buying the Foundations of CompSci one on Monday. I still need the rest.

Vet Science seems WAY too expensive!
