When you receive your HSC Marks, which column determines your performance band? Is it the exam mark, the assessment mark or the overall HSC mark?

Does the exam itself determine what band you receive for a particular subject?

Thanks in advance for replying :)

HSC mark determines your band. For example, 85 exam mark, 95 assessment mark gives a 90 HSC mark which is a Band 6

- Overall HSC mark determines the performance band
- The HSC exam determines half of your overall HSC mark for a subject, with the internals providing the other 50%. The HSC markers inspect the exam and decide on an appropriate mark one should recieve in an exam to recieve a certain mark/band, and based on your internal and external, your HSC mark will be in a certain band.

Thank you so much for that! It's cleared up a lot of things for me now. :)
