Not necessarily, the MX2 course is more for those that excel in maths and have a profound interest in the subject. You really need to have a solid base knowledge of 2/3 unit maths to succeed in 4 unit.

What topics, may I ask?
Complex Numbers and Conics.
Also, Mathematics Extension 2 is designed for talented students with a deep interest in the beauty of mathematics. The course content is kind of at university level.
Some people actually do finish the paper, believe it or not! But no one's ever gotten full marks for a long time (think it is now like 5 years since someone got full marks) because they have like a lot of silly mistakes and stuff.

So what's the relationship between Mathematics Extension 2 and Uni stuff?

I've heard MX2 is like an introduction to maths in uni, it gets alot harder.

Really?
Is Mathematics Extension 2 really stuff meant to be studied at uni?
We do know for sure that it's certainly the hardest of all maths in high school.

You know who'll find uni maths harder? Not those who do 2u but do no maths at all (nor science).
