I heard that the HSC Advice Line will be scrapped this year.

Any truth in this?

a phone no. you can call after school has officially finished and talk to teachers if you have questions about a particular subject.

i heard it was scrapped too, so not this year at all
Thanks. Just did a google search:

http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/advice-line-2007.html

According to the site, the information will be updated with the 2008 details, so I'm guessing that it will still be running.

I know that they have had teacher applications in since May but I haven't heard of anyone who has got it as all the teachers who have done it in the past at my school have gone elsewhere this year.

bump...any comments from past HSC people
THE HSC ADVICE LINE IS PRETTY COOL.

In English they advisors provide very good advice on specific texts (tell the first advisor) and clarify your understanding of the text and its meaning and relation to the module in question.

In Physics one guy was LOLing with some Chemistry HSC adviser (or was it the other way around) good times and another guy was really mean ass, but he knew his stuff so well and taught me how to avoid certain pitfalls and made certain crucial corrections.

The mathematics advisors helped me calm down by making maths less dramatic and will offer to put up with my huuuuuuuuuge writing in my hsc maths exam
(fuck that mechanics exam that didnt let me write up coz not enough space, this is uni btw not mx2)

ipt i had hours long chat on ipt and i was pretty satisfied with what i learnt and clarifies things

SO Y SCRAP HSC ADVICE LINE??? 0_o

P.S. you guys should check out a similar thread about hsc advice line in the 2007 section

Rock On
