Hey dudes,

Got a "Heat of Combustion" practical assessment coming up..

I'll probably just look over a previous "Heat of Combustion of Alkanols" experiment we did.

Anyone have any other tips to prepare for the practical?

Thanks guys! :D

Know the aim, procedure, validity, accuracy and reliability. Also know how to draw the prac (make sure to use pencils and labelling).
Remember that when drawing tables, aim to fit it all in one table, and make sure the table is closed.
Similarly with graphs, ensure that there's a title, independent axis on the x (if you don't, in the case of stuff like sin i / sin r, make sure you justify it in your analysis/conclusion). Remember not to extrapolate to 'force' the graph through zero, unless it says so. Do not join the dots. Try line of best fit, or curve of best fit. Label the axes, and remember to put the units!
