I have an assessment task coming up where i need to compare the way technology has affected society in positive and negative ways in both texts.
I've come up with plenty of negatives but no positives. any ideas??

You should probably mention that the values of;

Mary Shelley; don't allow for much positive light on technology, since she's a Romantic writer, this context was very much anti-industrial/enlightenment, which means that any technology will generally be portrayed in a negative light.

Ridley Scott; while not being a Romantic writer (Post Modern? Not Sure) also focuses on values such Compassion and Acceptance, the Preservation of Nature and such, personally I don't know a word which fits what I'm looking for but I'm you'll understand me when I say that Compassion, Acceptance and the Preservation don't exactly go hand-in-hand with positive views on Science.

Honestly, I can't actually think of any positive views on Science in either of the texts myself, so Good Luck to you.
