ahh, just started on financial markets topic in yr 11 and i don't realli get what equity is.. like equity market and stuff.. and apparently and advertisement wif *equity mate* slogan? i hav no idea.. so lost about equity, can sumone help plz!

Doesn't Equity refer to the ownership of assets in general? Does not have to be shares.. could be property too for example.
