I do my entire schooling through distance, with Sydney Distance Education.
AND I HATE IT!
Firstly, you dont recieve the work in a continuious flow, its in dribs and drabs, the teachers have multiple emails and phone calls from me about my work or no work arriving, ect,ect.. and it hasnt gotten better.
Another thing is you are ALONE, you have no idea if anyone else in the area is doing it, so you cant get their ideas, or study with them, the study days are stupid, they dont cover the work you are doing at that point in time, they go back like 4-6 weeks, so you have no idea, or you get extremly bored.
Another thing is we are supposed to have a "regular school experience."
I'd love to know how being alone, not getting help from teachrs who say to call or email if you have any problems or questions, and they NEVER REPLY.
Normal school includes:
- Formal (year 10 & 12 usually)
- Social interaction (Lunch and recess)
- Teacher is there in front of you.
It also includes
- Distractions from students
- Bullying
Distance includes
- Higher marks, because you do it on your own.
- work at your own pace
But it also has
- Lonliness (Due to alone)
- NO FORMAL
- you dont know anyone really.
I like it in some aspects, but i hate being alone.
my friends at normal school, and 98% of this website are lucky..
