I used to rank so high in chem in the first half of yr 12, but then stopped studying for it because its my spare units. If I didn’t have it spare I’d def be stressing too, so your friend’s not alone. Since I did 3 units of Japanese last year and all my other subjects are better, I kinda just neglect Chem now. I should probably start studying for it but I HATED module 7 and 8... I think physics was my calling instead of chem, because I only like studying/doing the math/stoichiometry questions
mmm yeah makes sense, I did maths last year so I'm in the same boat

It’s too content heavy and I’m too lazy to slog through memorisation. I might do some light practice starting tomorrow onwards but otherwise chilling. I might still be able to get a band 5 aligned?

From what I've seen its SO much dude, I did it in year 11 and even that was MASSIVE, it's good you have those as spare units

Oh god theres was this guy in my Chem class who does Physics and always talk about how difficult Physics is compared to Chem but I think he’s wrong. I haven’t done Physics but I think the benefit of it is, when you understand it you UNDERSTAND it. In Chemistry I keep forgetting syllabus info because there’s just so much to remember. The year 12 modules are also incredibly messed up. Nobody’s going to like them all because Module 6 is so application heavy whereas Module.... 7:oldrolleyes: is purely written questions and memorisation. So Chem students are cooked regardless

Yeah no I remember chem was like "Here's this rule that applies to all elements- except these two gases, and this rule that applies to all elements for SPDF notations, except on the 4th electron level, it jumps past 4f to 5s and then back to 4f" it seems like a very specific memoryset rather than remembering (admittedly a lot of hard) formulas and ratios and stuff
