Ok I had a re-look (is that a word?) at the country road info and it says that it expanded to America and Asia. But then closed down the American branches. Thats all the info I have on expansion. Hmmm.. I'm in big trouble aren't I?

Nope doesn't specify where in Asia. Now i'm just trying to find information on why it closed its US branches and where it is in Asia.

well if u dont have time..i say do it... and in ur report mention the words Asia and the US.... hence hinting to the markers that it is an internaitonal biz... but if u do have time..i suggest u go and find another one... there are heapz around..

Hmm.. its just that I've sorta given up looking for anything else so I'm sorta settling on this one.
It's a pretty decent case study. I've got all my topics covered except for global. I'm only 50% done on that topic....

i didnt know we needed 2 case freakin studies
at school we were given 1 case study assessment about globalisation and thats it. we were told thats all we needed
this is bullshit, why do need a case study for each topic?

u dont..... and dont stres

1. u dont need 2 case studies, 1 big one is enough
2. you dont need a gazillion case studies for each topic... u can do it lyk that if u have prepared this all along and have a big memory...
3. as long as ur big one covers all da topics and majority (if not all) of the dot poitns of the syllabus then ur fine.

mine just covers globalisation and its dot points
not marketing,employment etc...
if i get a 60ish mark for the HSC and i got 80% for my report
would that screw me over with the scaling?

not over scaling... but u would prob be scrwed if they specialise the question changing the focus to other topics instead of the last one... so i suggest you use that case study... but go and find more info abt the other topics... use ur syllabus as ur guide... dont stress..u still have plenty of time..

acutalli i will correct myself abt what i said b4 abt case studies...

1 is okay, but 2 is desirable this is because

1. soemtimes one partiuclar caese studi does not have all the info, hence if u have another to fill in the missing bit and add extra stuff to other bits then thatz good,

2. some markers......note some... like to see the *compounding effect* ..ie: they take note of how mani businesses you add in.

overall there are a few ways u can approach using case studies:

1. have on massive one that covers everything absotluetli everything, hence you are able to talk abt it thoroughly if they ask for ani partiuclar topic

2. have 2, use them complementarily

3. have 1 big one and a few little ones, just to mention them in passing, eg: not only does Qantas use this strategy, TIB Ltd also uses this and ever since its implementartion in 2001, it has being experiencing a rise in net profit by a steady 3% per annum.

4. have lots of little ones...

those 4 mehtods are all being used by students.....some markers prefer mehtod 4 cuz it shows the student has a lot of knowledge, but at the same time, the student risks generalisaing himself due to the quantitiy, mixed with the time constraint, often quality suffers.

i say method 2 is the most desirable, or even method 3 except with 2 big case studies instead of 1..... but remember dont go overboard with case studies, cuz u will lose some markers....

yeah however you have to make sure that the case studies you have would suit any question... because some case studies only cover one topic.... such as arnotts is only BM&C.... so you wouldnt get away with just knowing 2.... what if they stump you with a question that doesnt suit your case studies..

even though its tomorrow i still dont know what im doing with my case studies.... im either using qantas which we have done all year and it fits each topic... or else im just going to learn really basic ones for each topic that way i have heaps to talk about...

what do you people think is better... another thing is that so much of the state uses qantas... so would it be better to use something different?

first para: yeah i had to abandon a coupel of case studies, cuz there were absoltueli nothing on the otehr topics...

sexond para: well might as well use qantas, i know hlaf of the state is doing it, but if its good quality, then dont worry, although markers do get sorta sick of it, they are on the lookout for whether u have answered the quesiton.....so i say which ever case study u use does not matter.....no matter how popular it is...... just answer the question...
