okay, so before summer holidays started we got this thick as booklet on speeches that we have to annotate and let's just say that annotation and i aren't really the best of friends. so here's what i'll love you for, i need a quick explanation on the best way to annotate speeches because i have no idea how in the world to do that. poems are much easier i reckon.

Annotate it just like any speech. Identify a technique from a quote, and explain its effect. Identify key themes. Only in speeches you have -different- techniques than in poem. But essentially, it's the same style of annotation.

just highlight random shit. honestly how can you not know how to annotate/ it's basically doing an exnglish paper one exam without highlighting shit everywhere. speeches you obviously identify changes in tone, language, motives behind certain statements, words that include the audience, words that isolate the audience, how are statements used to manipulate the audience's emptions
