My experience with GENS4010 - Science and Religion

These are awesome reviews! If anybody else could throw one in that'd be awesome because I'm at a crossroads! (Especially a breakdown of assessment marks. Is there any group work?)

    WAM boosters

How do they assess the experiments? Do they take long? How long is the final report? Are the quizzes timed? Sorry, just can't find any info on this anywhere.

    WAM boosters

Very helpful but can you just clarify whether this is or is not a bludge course? And don't worry I've got friends who did HSC physics so definitely hitting them up.

And now I have to start filtering everyone I've ever met. Sigh.

    WAM boosters

Can I get more info about PHYS1110, preferably from someone who's done it? From the PDF I get the impression that there are no exams just some online quizzes, experiments at home and a final report on whatever you want? Can anyone confirm the structure of this subject and its WAM boosting...

Great write up. Is the FINS1613 semester thing still true? Is it a different lecturer?

Does the HSC determine how smart you are. Discuss.

There's a reason the HSC provides an ATAR, but it's not to test your intelligence. A lot of people complain that it's all memorisation and playing the game. Whilst I admit that the 'playing the game' element is a bit of a problem (I.e. kids not doing maths in HSC but then doing engineering...

    HECS

Sorry, guys, but I believe it's gone now. It was available at the start of the year but no longer. https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/fees/CSP.html "Subject to the passage of legislation, the HECS-HELP discount of 10% for up front student contributions will be removed." Although it doesn't seem to...

Are you sure? I thought it was gone now. Do you have a source?

    HECS

I've gotten my fee statement for this upcoming semester but I'm not sure what to do. Does it automatically defer to HECS after the census date or do I have to do something? Also can I pay an upfront fee for a 10% discount or has that been abolished now? Cheers. This is for UNSW if that helps.

    UNSW Subject Survival Guides

ACCT1501: - Stay on top of your tutorial work. Each week builds on the last. - Don't need to go to lectures but they can be useful depending on the lecturer. - Try and get your hands on a past paper. They're not readily available. - Find a Perdisco guide. It's crazy hard to do solo. - Take your...

High credits for both assignments. Literally did the entire second one by myself. Partner didn't submit anything and I had a day to do both his parts :vcross:

    Dropping to 11 units?

The exam for ext 1 has waaaaaay less content and work than eng adv.

    Dropping to 11 units?

If you only have 4 people in your class and are sitting on 78% than it's fine. Your ranks hardly matters. 78% in ext 1 scales to a band 6 or high band 5. Stick with it.

    Year 11 subject selection

Do 2 unit. I did eco and really enjoyed it but I'm told business studies is a breeze. Also, biology is very fun but be aware that whilst you'll study some genetics, your school selects your elective subject and it could be genetics (Blueprint of Life) but it might not be.
