Barry Hall Hall ad - filmed at usyd?

Definitely filmed at uni. I recognised shots inside McLaurin Hall, the front of St Andrew's College and the gates off Parramatta Rd to St John's College.

    Names on Multi Choice

Our supervisors said that they need those slips so that if the string tying multiple bookets breaks then markers can check it on the blue slip to find out if there should be more than one booklet.

Has anyone encountered this book? it's fantastic! haha!

I bought it as one of my book prizes for presentation night but haven't been able to read it yet as I had to take my books into school. But the teacher organising the book prizes read the blurb on the back as well and told me she thought it was funny.

    Melbourne Cup Question

I was stoked, I had $5 each way on Makybe Diva and $2 on Vinnie Roe for a place. Got back $33.90, wished I'd put more on Makybe Diva now and gone for the quinella.

    Indochina

I did question b, mainly because I wasn't sure what was meant by 'failure of the Geneva Agreement' in question b. i.e did it mean the failure of reunification elections to be held or the escalation of the war. With b my argument was basically that the loss of support for the war on the...

    You Assessment Marks?

Mine was 89, which is kind of bad because I was ranked first. But I think my mark will moderate better than that because my school mark was dragged down by a question which I stuffed completely in the trial.

    how hard was the test?

My questions were: Germany - Collapse of Weimar Republic due to Hitler/Nazis Indochina - VC responsible for US withdrawal and South Vietnamese defeat I thought the questions were fairly straightforward but my answers could've been better because I ran out of time.

suggested answers to da germany qtn part a

I argued against the question too. My argument was basically that the collapse of the Weimar Republic was primarily due to the German people's disillusionment with democracy rather than any inherent popularity of Hitler and the Nazis

    who swore in their responses?

I know I used a quote from the Shipping News with swearing in it and then rambled about how the swearing was a technique that conveyed the local's attitude towards the global. I've always wanted to use the anecdote in the Shipping News about the bouncer being raped with a cod but I've never...

    Screw you, Seamus!

I have a vendetta against Seamus Heaney. He shitted so much that in all the assessment tasks, trial and hsc exams I only ever used his poems once, and that was because the question said to use his poems.

Module B - Elective 3: Retreat from the Global (Essay)

That picture completely threw me. I made only one reference to it at the start of my second paragraph and then completely disregarded it. Beyond that I thought the essay question was pretty dodgy and I mostly rambled a lot of crap and tried to make it relate to the boundaries of time and place.

    Expectations?

I think there's a kind of unspoken pressure in my family. My parent's never overtly say anything tp put pressure on me but I've always done well and my sister got a UAI in the high 90s so I think the same is expected of me. At school I usually get compared to her as well. Amongst my aunts...

The songs we get stuck in our heads

During Ext English I had Junior Kickstart by the Go Team stuck in my head because I was listening to it before the exam to get me motivated. Maths I had !!!'s Me and Giuliani Down by the Schoolyard, a True Story and Something for Kate's cover of Dreamworld stuck in my head.

    Muckup Day/Week: Ideas, Photos Etc

We covered the shelter in the yr 11 area with about 2km of glad wrap and had the obligatory water-bombing of juniors. Even managed to get on the roofs of the buildings before being kicked off because apparently it was 'too dangerous'. Another thing that we did which wasn't part of muck-up day...

Funniest thing thats happened in a class

In year 10 science some guys short-circuited the entire school by sticking little metal things in one of the power points and turning it on. The groundsman came running into the classroom and we all tried to act as if nothing had happened and that we hadn't noticed that the power wasn't on.

    Who stuffed?

I'm pretty sure I completely stuffed up the essays. They were quite possibly the dodgiest things I have ever written.

    HSC SCAVENGER HUNT!

Nice discussion of techniques and effective linking to the Ivory Trail. More references to the prescribed text would be appreciated. Overall, a sound response showing a solid grasp of the question. 18/20 That essay is great, it's probably better than the one I wrote in the exam!

most annoying person in an exam room

The supervisor today in Maths who decided to organise all the papers on the unused desk next to me, and make the loudest noise of turning pages. I felt like slapping her down!

Confess; 2 Questions in one booklet

14 booklets. I think I really pissed off the supervisors who had to keep giving me booklets. I think one one of them gave me a deathstare because I asked for a new booklet when I still had blank ones on my desk.
