    Hlth 107

I've done HLTH 107, it's pretty good from memory. It covers all the basics of human anatomy. However, it really depends on what course you're doing. What's your major?

Hey ekkyzZ, There aren't any prerequisites for the 1st year subjects in chiro (at least for macquarie uni, and they're the only uni in nsw to offer the course). Which means that it isn't absolutely neccessary to do any science subjects for your hsc. There is some advantage to having chemistry...

    B Chiropractic Science

The undergrad also has some chiro subjects that teach the adjustments, only they build up to the full repertoire that chiros need, and we aren't expected to do them with as high a velocity (our adjustments being high velocity, low amplitude) as we are when we reach clinic. We learn all the...

Yeah it would be heaps easier to learn than biomechanics...... so many facts to learn before tomorrow......

I was under the impression that it was ok to do static palp under the underwear (with informed consent of course) but that as soon as it became insertion that she should have stopped it..... naturally banging him on the bed was cause for complaint!!!

Lol i dont think so somehow... can you imagine getting informed consent for that? It's a bit more invasive than a breast exam... I think I'd leave that for +Po1ntDeXt3r+ to do. It would end up being like the lecture where the chiropractor got 'friendly' with his patient... that put the pat into...

Chiro is very very little maths, we're like the only science students that don't have to do statistics. The only maths we do is basic and part of scientific formulae, apart from a third year subject on Research Methodology which has a little in stats i think and then a major research study we do...

    Special Consideration for exams

True, but can you imagine if everyone did? It's one of those unwritten rules: Thou shalt not use the common cold or the flu as reasons for special consideration. They'd probably find some way of banning it if we did.

    Special Consideration for exams

I hate that around exam time you always get this niggly cold/flu, one that doesn't make you that sick but impairs your study and exam performance. It's hard to study when you're blowing your nose every 2 seconds, but it's not good enough to count as having serious sickness..... cos everyone else...

    B Chiropractic Science

I'm guessing you get the lower half of a torso or half a lower torso to look at the structures inside and out? When we were doing the leg we got half the lower torso and naturally half the genitalia to go with it, you should have seen the way the guys reacted, they had to cover it up...

    B Chiropractic Science

It's great that you wanna know more about chiro and that you're open to it, luckily there's not as much opposition to chiro as there used to be. Although no one went to jail for practising chiro in Aus, turf war still existed. In 1965 the Aus Med Assoc passed a ruling prohibiting professional...

    B Chiropractic Science

I think mz_bubbletea's covered it all! Chiro's heaps of work but it's a lot of fun too. You have to be sure that you really want to do it, lots of people drop out of it in first year because they don't really know what is involved. It gets really easy then to forget about your goal and get...

    Is Anatomy Hard?

sounds like you're doing a couple of the same subjects that I did! Anatomy is the basis of med so if you wanted to do postgrad med anatomy is good. In terms of psych you don't learn much that's relevant, nothing much on the brain etc. The lecturer is a classic, you'll have to persevere with the...

    Is Anatomy Hard?

I did hlth 107 last year, yeah its hard but worthwhile. Only do it if you want to do anatomy later on, or else it's pretty useless as a subject. It is lots of memorising, and covers the WHOLE body, not just muscles or bones. In fact, you do those in the first couple of weeks. It's a fast paced...

    Chem 103??

yep, chem 103's pretty hard, I did it last semester and ended up with a pass. However if you put the effort in it's not too bad. I did chem in high school so i'm not sure how you'd go without it. I do know though that you have to at least done some chem, if not at high school then chem 101.
