  • Haha yep atm i really want to be a neurosurgeon, but tbh med students change their minds a lot as they progress in their studis and get more exposure to the different fields.

Lol, well good luck! Just work hard and maintain your passion and drive and it can work out :)

atm we just finished learning a bit of theory on the respiratory system. We go to the hospital once a week but that just ended cos final year exams are coming up haha
Haha because i had several reasons
    1. I really enjoyed neuroscience
    2. My passion for healthcare grew from seeing how vital it is particularly when i travelled to less fortunate countries
    3. I had a close friend die of leukemia when he was still a teen and that kinda made me realise how important healthcare is
    4. I like the challenge the career proposes and I like the flexibility in terms of the vast array of specialisations
    5. I just find medicine as a field, the study of how the body must survive, the fact that a doctor is a warrior that brings life not death as somewhat fascinating and appealling

nah it's actually really fun all the different scenarios you get trust me, it's actually quite enjoyable
    Know what for sure?

Haha not really. Neither is more stressful, they're just different :)
It depends if you can back it up. Like if you say your motivation is a love of science, they may ask "why not become a chemist or a physics professor?" etc. so you have to have stuff to back you up

MMI is a multi station interview. You have like 10 different "mini-interview" stations that are 8 minutes each
Not doing bio in the hsc hasnt really impacted my learning in med. A lot of the bio is fairly easy to grasp and not really a major component of the course, at least not the bio you did in your hsc. So not doing hsc biology doesnt really disadvantage you

It is good to have multiple reasons, and a passion for science is a very viable reason :) its beat just to be entirely honest with the interviewers

I dont think they are as "intense" as people make out. Different unis have different types of interviews. UNSW has a panel of two, whereas uncle and uws have MMI interviews
Yep I accelerated 4u maths and did the hsc in year 11, in year 12 I did 4u english, chemistry and physics

I wrote a story on the concept of the nietzschean ubermenschen applied in a society where reality was malleable to the level of conscious thought lol

I actually *might* know who u r talking about. Iirc they wear glasses too

Haha good luck for the interview! Haha its always good to have multiple reasons imo :)
there are a fair few curries and asians, but there are also a fair few whites, I would say its more balanced than people would think lol
um sorry lol doesn't ring a bell, are they a first year? Might know them by their first name
I see :) that is a very noble cause
It is super rad :) great cohort, lot of clinical stuff from the second week, anatomy pracs with cadavers from first sem, a stack of rad lecturers and pretty good atmosphere :) may I ask as to why the course is your dream course?

    Haha ok I understand :)
