I thought the top1-3 in the state for Advanced English weren't dong extension english, the same as how you cant top ext1 maths in the state if you do ext2 maths..

From the book? which text are you doing...i just think the teachers mainly want to see us apply the information we know about the book )eg specific details such as events, how they talk, how they act etc) However, it would basically be the same as writing any other creative in the 19th Century...

There are a few good notes in the REsources Section of BOS. Which stimulus text are you doing it with. I found The Ivory Trail works well because of the mix of colours and the foreboding background.

Hmm, quite strange. OUr teacher told us we could only do texts that were SET in the 19th Century. So say for films, iit could be produced today, but just had to be SET then. Ie would could do hte new movie Becoming Jane if we wanted to.

Well, our teacher told us to know all of them. But my tutor said know two really well, and have some stuff you can write confidently on the 3rd one, beacuse sometimes the question doesn't suit one of your two poems.

I started with an intro to Browning but got a bit stuck. Browning’s poem; Porphyria’s lover is exploring patriarchal power. The title undermines social expectations depicting man as an object of the female.

This picture book by Dr Suess works really well as well. My friend used it last year and she had a really stong connection between Away and Journeys and the Dr Suess book. I think it was called "The Places You'll Go", or something like that. I'll try and look it up.
