Hey everyone.
When doing the HSC past papers what will be a raw mark for a corresponding band 6 in the HSC.
The subjects I'm interested in:
Chem
Phys
Maths 3u
Maths 4u

Currently I'm doing trial papers and
  • for 4u I fluctuate in the mid 70's
  • for 3u I fluctuate between 70's and 90's
  • for phys I'm starting to get high 70's to mid 80's
  • and for chem I'm getting high 70's
Where am I currently and how much do I need to improve for that band 6? And don't forget the HSC paper marks needed.

Edit: This is percentage wise

Whoops - this is if it is raw.

4U - High E3 or Low E4 (depends on difficulty of paper since that is a borderline mark)
3U - Mid E4
Physics - High B5 or Low B6 (depends on difficulty of paper since that is a borderline mark)
Chem - Low B6

why did you say it was percentage wise when you wrote x/84 which implies thats it raw marks?
dubface
Firstly it doesn't concern you.
Secondly what the hell is a dubface? Sad excuse of a call.
Thridly x/84 is the mark I got converted into a percentage. I thought most people would get the times by 100m but clearly some don't.

This sounds about right.

70% in 4u = borderline mark? that's 84/120 which i though was a decent mark and pretty much guaranteed band 6 :S

You're right - last year a raw mark or 84/120 or 70% aligned to a 93 (from a fellow BOSer who got his raw marks & posted them - this was his 4u mark).
last years cut off was 71/120 so yeah, 84/120 is obv a e4
