Hi everyone, I just wanted to clear something up, hope this doesn't seem like a stupid question... Does the HSC exam for Mathematics (Advanced) contain questions from topics covered in year 11? So for study, should year 11 be revised as well? Or is it only year 12 content? I know that general maths does have to revise year 11 but what about Advanced? Thank you, people I have asked only confused me haha ^.^

yes from memory around 40%-30% of prelim maths can be in the test.

Yep, since maths builds up on content more so than other subjects e.g. you can't learn Yr 12 Applications of Calculus without learning how to differentiate (which is a Yr 11 topic at most schools).

Same type of thing applies for many other topics.

20% of the exam is directly prelim, but HSC contents is built upon prelim anyway.

For 2U anyway the yr11 and yr12 courses are so intertwined that it all meld together...think of the 2U exam as the 2U syllabus in its entirety - both Yr11 and Yr12.
