Writing Monologues for IP (1 Viewer)

hey all,
im in need of assistance - i want to write my own monologue for my ip but im not sure how to go about it, what makes a good monologue, etc. im a good writer but i just dont know whether i should bother...
any comments are appreciated.

When I write stuff like that, what I find easiest is choosing a style to write in first. So if you want to do something in the style of Brecht, then start off with a 'Bretchian' opening. If its realism, you need to know what theme/issue you want to explore...

Have you thought about adapting characters. Two years ago at OnStage, someone adapted a character from Cloudstreet and it was damn good! A friend of mine adapted a traditional Commedia character, and wrote her own script... another did a Dario Fo style piece with Dario Fo characters, but her own script. Last year, a friend adapted abagail williams, did another side of her story... it did REALLY well! So yeah, give it a go!
