ie credit average, distinction average, etc.

do you simply add up your final mark for each subject and divide it by the number of subjects?
and then the number which fits into the grade category (e.g. credit) is your average?

I was working it out for a job application but got confused.
Should I be using this:
http://sydney.edu.au/arts/performance/undergrad/grades.shtml ??

For the application it listed credit as 60%-69% and distinction as 70% - 79% .....which is inconsistent with the USYD guidelines isnt it?

What should I use...?

I was told usyd uses WAM not GPA though I could be wrong since i have no other knowledge of it

Yeah I just found this for you http://current.ask.sydney.edu.au/ap...can-i-calculate-my-grade-point-average-(gpa)?
"The University of Sydney does not use the grade point average system (GPA) for calculating average marks.

If you are asked for your GPA, you should seek further information from the institution or organisation requesting it. There are many different formulae available and the policy for how a GPA is calculated varies per institution and purpose, e.g. 4.0 and 7.0 point systems or including all years of study or only your second and third year."

I am pretty sure GPA is something completely else to what I am talking about. I am saying CREDIT AVERAGE, DISTINCTION AVERAGE, ETC. not 4.0 or 3.0 or whatever. I am talking % out of 100.

Just add up your final marks and divide by number subjects. If you have an average of 74 then that's a credit average. If you have average 76 then it's distinction average.

then what about what the application listed as a credit/distinction....?

Should I just say I have a distinction average because in their application criteria I fit that, but in USYD's criteria I dont - I have a credit average?
